DATUK MIRZA A FREE MAN

I had on two previous occasions posted an article concerning former Director General Tourism Malaysia Datuk Mirza Mohammad Taiyab who was accused of accepting gratification in the form of a paid dental treatment amounting to RM 13,860 from Perunding Pakar Media Sdn Bhd director without consideration.

I firmly held that Datuk Mirza is innocent of the charge, and that he is a victim of some unscrupulous officials reportedly from within his department, rather than he being a villain. And sure enough, the KL Sessions Court had on Friday, July 24, 2009 acquitted Datuk Mirza of the charge of corruption, after four years of agonising wait and overbearing humiliation.

Since being charged in 2005, Datuk Mirza had been under suspension from duty, and I am not so sure whether he had been paid a salary. I could imagine how he and his family had to endure the long trial, shame and humiliation at knowing that he did not commit the offence. And to those that had initiated the report with malice in their hearts, I can only say that their time to be placed on trial will be in the hereafter. There will be no lawyers to defend them. It is only their hands, mouth, legs, eyes and ears that will bear testimony and witness to their misdeeds in front of Allah, the All Mighty. As a Muslim, 'fitnah' is a grievous crime.

Truth and justice had prevailed in this instant. But for a mere RM13,860, Datuk Mirza's image that had been held in high esteem by his colleagues had been battered, and it will take sometime for him to rebuild that lost image.

We occasionally read today that there are many others that have got away with millions in ill- gotten wealth, and are shamelessly enjoying themselves, and with one former Menteri Besar to quote. Even reports have been made against them, but somehow it does not seemed that important for a case to be filed against them by the authorities.I suppose being rich and a position in society in this country, gives one the immunity against a criminal proceeding.

I bid Datuk Mirza and his family well in their future undertakings, and I am quite sure that with time, all that they had gone through will hopefully be erased from their memory. I am not sure whether Datuk Mirza would now want to continue with his previously held occupation, and will there be any effort to pin down the main culprit that had with malicious intent, launched the report against Datuk Mirza.

Dear Dato, if this country is to chase after the BAD GUYS we may need a big police force - white collared criminals are all well connected people!

We can see them one day - "Mara BUKA semua AKAN BUKA !

If Mirza is free don't quickly jump to conclusion he is not guilty. That being the case with our judiciary system, when come to high profile corruption, the matter is resolved by AG first who decides whether 'case or no case'. Not so when come to cases involving the lowly rakyat. See this double standard?

Of course Mirza case is small but that does not exonerate him from his own conscience of guilty feeling when he admitted not knowing his expenses had been paid for by others.

With AG acts as the protector of 'high profile corrupt practioners', the rakyat should be jittery to the government's call to fight corruption.

We have one dishonest government to dispose of!

Any decision by AG for Case or No Case depends entirely on BPR/MACC findings from their investigations. BPR/MACC investigations are done first on 'intelligence' and then followed by investigation proper. On any allegation of corruption that is passed to BPR/MACC, the intellegence division will determine if there is ground for their investigation division to proceed. The burden of proof lies with the investigation division, therefore it is the intelligence division who will pave the way whether the government will have to spend money on the "advance and attack (investigation)" of the allegation or will save money from just the intelligence division's assessment. It is like military sending recce party for battlefield intelligence prior to an operation, always a prelude to a mission.

But then BPR/MACC doesn't work like military. The military have its enemy and work on even the slightest 'raw" information to process into military intelligence. BPR/MACC's mentality is that all those who made allegation on high profile corruption are enemies and all high profile alleged persons are friends, especially if that alleged persons are in the government.

Any allegation without proof or with light proof will certainly be dismissed by their intelligence teams and those with heavy proof will be covered by their investigation teams.

The AG is just a post master there awaiting deliveries from BPR/MACC, he merely acts based on BPR/MACC findings, or rather I would like to call it the BPR/MACC's manipulations.

Yes there are changes and new powers to MACC now, but the hats are changed, the heads are still the same. BPR/MACC are the government's dogs of war.

not dogs of war...war dogs are very brave and have had a long history of good service since WW I and WW II. THEY ARE BRAVE AND LOYAL..

MACC !!!

1.BRAVE TO KILL AND MAIM THE INNOCENT AND LET THE GUILTY GO SCOT FREE!
2.INVESTIGATE ONLY WHEN PM AND AG SAYS HIS SO!
3.CONDUCT SEARCH WHEN IT IS THE OPPOSITION.
4. PROVIDE VERDICT BEFORE TRIALS.
5. COVER ALL CASES INVOLVING BN MINISTERS AND UMNO BASTARDS !
6. NOT SHY TO LIE, CHEAT, BLUFF AND FALSIFY EVERYTHING!

THIS IS TRULY MALAYSIA BOLEH..

I find it quite amusing when some people comment with cut and paste from other blogs. Originality seems to be something from the past.

The acquittal of Mirza now followed suit by ex-CCID chief Dato' Ramli....Who's afraid of committing corruption and abuse of power in this government and in this country?
