WILL WE SEE AN END TO CORRUPT PRACTICES?

Can anyone believe the claim made by Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Mohamed Hassan, that he was unaware that to transfer RM10 million to the UK through a money changer was wrong? It is unbelievable for a lawmaker that he is, to be so ignorant of the law relating to money transfer. Is this guy playing stupid, just like former Selangor Menteri Besar Muhammed Taib when he claimed not to have understood simple English when caught at an airport in Australia with large amount of cash. Mind you Muhammed Taib was schooled at a time when English was widely used as a medium of instruction. Who are these guys trying to fool, and for playing stupid, they have made themselves even more dumb and stupid.

It was reported that several more people with titles to their name have engaged in 'illegal money transfers'. Clearly, if it isn't ill-gotten wealth that they were trying to hide away, why then have they to do money transfers via the illegal way. And going by the amount being transferred by Mohamed Hassan, calls for a thorough explanation as to the source of the money. Don't tell us that it was a bank loan that he took; just like Khir Toyo when he built his palatial home. At least Khir Toyo had better justification for his source of money i.e. his earnings from his dental clinic......that was what he claimed.

It is examples like these that have made the public angry, where there is a total disregard for integrity and honesty; traits that are vital to be upheld by leaders. A so-called leader like Mohamed Hassan by his act, simply does not qualify being a leader. He has set a poor example, and public perception of him now is one of a dishonest politician mired in corrupt practices. If a similar act is to happen to a Japanese or a Korean politician where personal honour is upheld to the extreme, the politician will have to committed suicide. But here in this blessed country, corrupt politicians takes a different course of action by adopting the infamous denial stance. They will deny everything, and the case will slowly fade into oblivion.

Sadly too, vital traits expected of leaders today has little meaning, let alone being practiced. Back in the 60's, corruption among public servants is virtually unheard off. My late father used to speak to me about his bosses and praised them for their honesty, integrity and hard work. He says that his bosses deserved respect, and for him to do something untoward that will shame his bosses is something unthinkable.

Today, besides politicians, top public servants have somewhat got the taste for being corrupt. I have been told that some who are nearing retirement have cleverly devised arrangements and plans to 'reap the harvest' immediately upon retirement. They do this by offering lucrative contracts to their cronies while they are in the position of power, and be paid the 'dividends' after retirement. Some are also known to have taken up positions as Chairman in such companies where they were working in cohort upon retirement.

Senior military officers in position of power today have also learned skills to accumulate wealth while in service; unlike their civilian counterparts who prefers to wait a while, until they retire. I have been told that the way these senior military officers work is to position a member of their family in the company that they are working in cohort, and to cleverly direct contracts to the company. Being in the position of power, they are fully aware of the tenders to be awarded, and will stamp their authority to ensure the tenders are awarded to companies having an established link with them.

I have always said to people that the only way to root out this corrupt practice among members of the military is to get the guilty ones into jail, regardless of their status and position. To shame them is the only thing they know and deserve, in order the save the noble military profession from being led by a bunch of corrupt officers, void of integrity and honesty.

The MB has high-level corporate background. He is insulting our intelligence by claiming of his innocence on the ground of ignorance.

He must explain to the public, where did he get the money and for what purpose it was transferred to the UK.

In the absence of such explanation, the MB could be branded as another corrupt UMNO leader.

Dato' Arshad Raji,
Ostensibly there is not even a murmur from the top in the ruling party about his ability to command such a vast amount of cash to be transferred even for a purported purchase of landed property. It goes to show that corruption is almost a way of life for many in this country, especially those who wield power and authority. There's no feeling of shame or remorse in committing it and its one of the ways where God destroys a person, ie. absence of guilt or shame in committing corruption and abuse of power.

The Governor of Bank Negara has been caught napping by not regulating the activities of the Money Changers in the country.

I was told the turnover from this business annually is around RM5 billions and yet the Money Changer Companies need to pay only RM 500-RM600 for their annual license.

How stupid the Government can be by not imposing more higher licensing fees from these lucrative business owners.

Stop bleeding the rakyat with such thing as GST, increase petrol price etc instead focus on companies that make huge profit from the public.

,,,BRAVO dato !
,,,its time we name names and be very specific of the corrupted individuals in our respective blogs in-order to make the CHANGE. Indeed, we are moving in the right direction here for the betterment of our future generation and our beloved country MALAYSIA.
,,,no more pussy touching yaa..its the real hard stuff and lets see if they can vomit-out their ill gotten gains. We are all sick and tired of seeing these kind of individuals in our midst, calling themselves as true Malaysian, a bloody shame to the rest of the world indeed. Buat kita malu jadi rakyat negara cuci ini sebab "kehenak" mereka mereka 'neraka dunia' ini yaa !!.
,,,our patience and tolerance have its limit too and now its pay-back time. If the mind can draw illness, it can cure it too..our mindset must make the change to happen. Lets move forward to full recovery for the good of the nation...Lets NAIL them corrupted guys in their coffin once and for all. In fact, even if they are dead, we should recover the loots stolen from the nation.
,,,Keep up with the good job Dato !. Yes to mind NO EVIL just looking for justice and fair game.

Dato, lets look deeper into the "unhealthy mindset" of our fellow malaysian via this pathological prespective ?..with regards to your question on "end to corruption." !!.
,,,Should we if we really care, to also further consider and discuss plus relate on the possible pathologies of the Integral stage of consciousness, patterns of unhealthy integration that will surely have an effect upon the next hundred years of human development in our beloved country.
,,,When considering human development—the process by which people and cultures grow through magic, mythic, rational, pluralistic, and integral stages of consciousness—it is important to keep in mind that each of these major stages come in both healthy and an unhealthy forms.
,,,For example, someone moving through mythic consciousness in a healthy way would most likely take on the very best qualities associated with that level, including traits such as honor, respect, and hard work—while someone experiencing an unhealthy version of mythic consciousness would slide rather easily toward religious fundamentalism, xenophobia, and groupthink.
,,,The same is true for the rational stage—a healthy version would include things like intellectual curiosity, agnosticism, and critical thinking—while an unhealthy version would display qualities of scientific reductionism, as scientific curiosity becomes replaced by the certainty of materialism.
,,,And while the healthiest aspects of pluralism emphasize multiculturalism, egalitarianism, and emotional sensitivity, unhealthy versions tend toward radical deconstructionism, narcissism, and political correctness.

BUT unfortunately these unhealthy trends plus mindsets are happening right infront of us ;

a.religious fundamentalism
b.materialism
c.political correctness.

..My suggestion is that moral values must be refocus early in our young malaysian mind, to seek and live a life of equilibrium in which their needs and other people's needs are met. Theirs would be a balanced lifestyle void of bad habits and excesses, full of integrity so that they can also enjoy a 'golden retirement' like some of us ?.
..Let us all continue to mellow and mature psychologically throughout our lives and for a better nation.

I rest my case.

"Will we see an end to corrupt practices ?". In 1Malaysia Bolehland...the answer is NO WAY instead it will get worst, a 'musibah' for this country. When Islam ministers, MBs and top government servants are 'fasiq' without 'taqwa', corruptions are become way of life and business practices.

Only Allah will save this country.

I have said it before folks if we have the political will power to catch all these CROOKS from day one till now the PUDU jail we have is not enough to store them!

The Sungei Buloh jail also would not be enough to accommodate all these scum of the earth!

Send them to Guantanamo...ask President Obama to lease it to us...they will learn a good lesson in life there, hopefully!
After all it is going to shut down pretty soon.

At least it is not left to waste, the arrest and charging of three Fries in the PKFZ SCANDAL is just the beginning says the AG!

We shall see if anymore relevant BIGGIES ARE CAUGHT or just another round of SANDIWARA!

I hope that it is not another "Just wishful thinking exercise again"!

This country has failed to surprise me anymore, with its' blatant lies and liars of the highest ORDER!

"Leaders lead by bad example should be our new MOTTO...! "

Dato,
I agree with the wise suggestion from some bloggers for u to expose the corruptors name openly. But dont forget defamation suit might follow by the lorry load.Exposure must be accompanied with hard facts and solid evidence which the corruptors will not be able to deny or may be in the name of exofficers ATM we hang a banner infront of Mindef with the name of these corruptors for public viewing .Then there will be too many defendants for them to sue, otherwise Dato Arshad will be in deep trouble financially.

Too true, walimuar.

With the absence of true 'justice' in Malaysia and the courts actions so questionable, it would be difficult for 1 person to bear the consequences of such action.

komando said...

Yes off course Pak Chad will have his hands full of court cases...BUT if we can assure that the REAL whistle blowers don't get blown away forever...SO THAT they may come forth and testify WITHOUT FEAR!

The so called Big Boys now have lots of money and with that can buy the most expensive defense team of lawyers and buy THEM time as well!

The other BIG issue is will justice prevail or will it be JUST another hog wash ?

Looking at the kangaroos that is ruling the courts now and the bosses they have!

MY DOUBTS IS A BIG AND AS HIGH AS MOUNT EVEREST!

I really wonder whether we are at DISNEYLAND or BOLLYWOOD currently?

Another factor which is very real!

First thing first, change the team now!

Second, dig up the records.

Third, file the case.

Fourth, let them say whatever they want in the courts. Let them deny it.

Fifth, we find the evidence and proof it without a single drop of doubt! No reasonable doubt AT ALL!

Finally,put them away for good!

NOT ONLY LIMITED TO MILITARY PERSONS....I MEAN ALL ACROSS THE BOARD! INCLUDING THE MOST WANTED
ONES, BE IT THEY HAVE LEFT THIS COUNTRY ! WE BRING THEM BACK !
IF NEED BE WE DIG THEM UP FROM THEIR GRAVES EVEN...WE TAKE BACK ALL THE MONIES THEY STOLE FROM THE RAKYAT....WE RETURN IT BACK TO THE RAKYAT!

WE MAKE THEIR CHILDREN PAYBACK..WORK FOR FREE TILL THEY DIE AS "TUKANG SAPU SAMPAH JALAN" AND REDEEM THEIR PARENTS SINS...

SO THAT THE NEXT GENERATION OF LEADERS DO NOT DO IT...THEY HAVE TO THINK A TRILLION TIMES BECAUSE WE WILL GET THEM OR OTHERWISE THEIR CHILDREN!

"PREVENTION IS ALWAYS BETTER THAN CURE"

THIS IS ALSO CALLED "DETERRENCE!"

That is :"THE DAY WHEN ALL THE 100 BILLION PREGNANT COWS WILL FLY HOME ALL AT THE SAME TIME"!

"TO BE KIND WE NEED TO BE CRUEL AT TIMES"!

Indeeed real superb proactive actions, comments and accordingly having been aggresively deliberated at length. Who in the powers that be are taking all the necessary steps to put a stop to all these.

Mr.Mustang
We shall and we will and we can do it!

IF - we can make them all crawl after the next GE!

Vote for the right reasons and for the right party to affect positive and meaningful changes for this beloved country we all call home!

Ask all your family members and friends to register as a voter first..step one!

Ask them to open their eyes and ears to learn about the truth!

Ask them to search their souls to seek out as to what is actually right and what is awfully wrong that is happening right before our eyes in this land call MALAYSIA!

We are all not going to fly away or sail away or run away to another island in the sun!

We do not have or own billions and millions or hundreds of millions all parked and ready overseas, for a great escape!

We can't afford it, plain and simple!

We are all stuck here for good, so lets make it better for ourselves and we owe it to our generations to come!

OTHERWISE WE ARE THE REAL "PENGKHAINAT" TO OUR FUTURE GENERATIONS!

SO MUSTANG ARE YOU READY TO DO IT?
WELCOME TO THE CLUB....if yes is the answer!

Thanks so much Komando. We hope those who are abusing the funds of the people, meant for the people will be dealt with accordingly.

May God Bless this country Malaysia!!

What is Malaysia turning into? An anarchy!!!Consider these...The Judiciary continues to be suspect (until such time the Lingam issue is addressed or the govt reverts back to allow appeals to the privy council), the enforcers of the law (police) cannot be relied upon (due to chronic corruption), the MACC is in chains and may only prosecute when given the go-ahead by the minister in charge (selective prosecution), the Executive, headed by Najib continue to retain scandal ridden politicians like Hassan despite negative public opinion, and worst of all, the Media who should play the role of guardians of public interest remain partial and supportive of govt policies simply because they are owned and paid by political parties themselves. Where does it end one wonders?
The truth of the matter is,in Malaysia, irrespective of what a politician does, be it something extraordinary like remitting huge sums of money to a foreign account or commit misdemeanours like abuse of power, insule the feminine gender in parliament, commit adultery and such like behaviour, the bottom line is, at the end of the day, the powers that be decides whether or not to do something about it.
The saddest thing that public opinion counts for nothing here.....
The question to be asked is "are we far from becoming an anarchy? Look aroud you and see for your selves..
The beauty is we, the people can do something about this.. We put the govt there, we can remove them..
So do something about it in the next elections.
But what do we have for alternative?????

"Will we see an end to corrupt practices?" Maybe the savior has arrived...Lets pray to Allah that our new MACC Chief Commissioner will have the devine strength "...to go after big fish, even the whales if there was adequate evidence."
